Caring for an important gift is essential

Engagement rings are a precious display of affection and promise of future happiness manifested in the form of jewellery. In its essence, it is pure love from one person to another. It is only natural to want to care for such a symbol of lifelong affection.
A well-made engagement ring can serve as family heirloom and as a reminder that true love existed between two people! It is our responsibility then, to care for such a valuable item! The main steps to keep an engagement ring in stellar condition are the following:

1)Do Not Clean Your Engagement Ring With Harsh Chemicals

Keeping your Engagement Ring clean is the number one priority! It is advised not to use harsh chemicals because there is a very real chance they could damage your gemstones. If keeping your diamond or gemstone engagement ring in top shape is your absolute number one priority then you should not use harsh chemicals or hard brushes while cleaning your stones. Chemical Resistance and Hardness are two entirely different things! This means that even though diamond has the most impressive hardness out of most gemstones, it can still get damaged by chemical components. If you mishandle your Diamond Engagement Ring or your Gemstone Engagement Ring by using a chemical that is not advisable to use, there is a serious chance the chemical could slip inside scratches and crevices and internally damage your centre stone.

2)Don't Remove Your Ring in Public

This one is a big no-no. Removing your ring in public is a recipe for disaster. There are a lot of things that can go horribly wrong if you decide to remove your precious and unique engagement ring in public. From your ring being stolen to losing it in all sorts of ways. If you remove your engagement ring from your hand there is a serious chance that you could knock it down on the floor by mistake, or if you remove it when cleaning your hands, forget it by the sink or even worse.... drop it in the sink by accident!

3)Excessively Touching the Centre Stone may harm it

Diamonds and other gemstone behave like magnets for dust, dirt, and body oil. This means that if you are touching the centre stone all the time it is bound to leave a mark! Being more delicate with delicate objects is key. If you want to remove your ring do not touch the top and bottom and pull because inevitably you are bound to touch the stone! Instead spread your fingers and pinch your ring by the sides to remove it safely!

4)Do not wear your Ring During Rigorous Activities

Wearing your precious Engagement Ring During Rigorous Activities is dangerous. It can cause accidents and bodily harm to you and other people that you may be training with but it can also get seriously damaged by its contact with exercise machines!
Always remove your Diamond or Gemstone engagement rings while doing exercise and strenuous activities!

5)Remove Your Ring During House Related Activities

Dropping your favourite engagement ring inside food or in the sink, damaging the stone while tidying up, making the gold tarnish because of excessive moisture and water from washing dishes are just a handful of the numerous things that can happen if you decide to wear a ring while doing house chores. Avoid this at all costs.

All in all caring for your Engagement Ring may make you extremely cautious, but for good reason. This ring is a Symbol of Love. It is a manifestation of care. And it is also made of precious materials! Caring for your ring is like caring for the person that got it for you.
